Misfits (discografia)
Misfits é uma banda de Horror Punk/Punk Rock formada em Nova Jérsei, nos Estados Unidos, no ano de 1977. A banda é considerada a primeira dentro do Horror Punk e obviamente a banda criadora do gênero.
A formação original da banda é:
· Glenn Danzig (Glenn Allen Anzalone) [Vocal e Teclado]
· Jerry Only (Gerald Caiafa) [baixo]
· Manny Martínez [bateria]
Misfits é uma daquelas bandas influenciadoras, é uma das bandas que mais influenciou o surgimento de outras, principalmente dentro do cenário Punk, influenciou também no rock em geral e até mesmo no Metal.
Muitos sabem, mas nem todos, que o nome da banda veio do último filme de Marilyn Monroe, o The Misfits.
Algo característico e comum da banda são as letras românticas, violentas e chocantes ao mesmo tempo, segue aí um exemplo:
Foi uma das primeiras se não a primeira banda Punk a tocar com integrantes maquiados. Uma maquiagem básica e esquelética, preto e branco. Mais pra frente isso criou um estilo, que foi apelidado de Devilock por Glenn Danzig.
Por incrível que pareça o Misfits não tinha guitarrista no começo de carreira.
A banda sempre foi um tanto quanto polêmica, aquele entra e sai de integrantes, briguinhas entre eles, e tal; isso resultou na saída de alguns dos mais importantes membros, resultou também na queda de sucesso, e na perca de uma grande oportunidade. Em novembro de 1979 a banda foi convidada para abrir o show do The Clash, em Londres, porém, o vocalista na época, Glenn Danzig e o guitarrista, haviam arranjado confusão com alguns skinheads na entrada do show do The Jam e foram presos, assim não podendo realizar a abertura do show do The Clash.
Alguns dos integrantes mais conhecidos da banda: Glenn Danzig, Michale Graves, Doyle Wolfgang von Frankenstein, Jerry Only.
